Miscellaneous

What should I know about ease and frequency of air travel in and out of Tucson?

Tucson International Airport TUS – or simply TIA is Arizona’s second-largest airport and has an excellent reputation for on-time performance.

Six airlines currently serve TIA providing non-stop service to 15 destinations with connections worldwide. These airlines offer over 60 daily departing flights with approximately 6,600 seats available. Serving TIA are Alaska, American, Delta, Southwest, United and US Airways.

Why did the hotel owner file for bankruptcy protection?

Operations at the hotel are continuing on normally as ownership works with the lender to reorganize debt. About the time a 10-year, $15 million renovation and expansion was completed, luxury travel experienced a downturn and competition in the hospitality industry remains intense. Nationally and locally, there are now clear indicators of improvement. Bankruptcy protection serves to buy time to create Lodge on the Desert the way it is intended. Supported by the recent substantial investment of capital, hotel operations are fully underway and the vision is safe. For more information, you may contact Lodge on the Desert’s General Manager, Frank Rodriguez, at 520-320-2001. Or by eMail at Frank.Rodriguez@LodgeOnTheDesert.com.
