Fort Lowell Shootout
Tucson Soccer Tournament
There’s nuthin’ like kicking the ol’ ball around. And that’s exactly what happens…A LOT over three days every year. In Tucson, AZ. At the Tucson Association of REALTORS® Shootout. At Fort Lowell Park. At 2900 North Craycroft Road. Next up is the 24th Annual and the 2014 dates are January 17 – 19.
The Tucson Association of REALTORS® Shootout, presented by Fort Lowell Soccer Club, is what everyone calls “the tournament with a heart.” Founder Bill Viner coached a competitive boys team and he got tired of going to tournaments where all he saw was a hotel room and a field, tired of trying to find a restaurant that could seat 18 players and their coaches. He wanted to bring players from different teams together not just on the field – but in a setting where they could have fun. Hence Tucson. Hence Fort Lowell Park.
Bill created the Shootout and its unique Friday night format where players, their coaches and their families could enjoy an evening of camaraderie and exciting, friendly competition. So, teams can join in a Picnic in the Park with great food choices. Show off their team spirit in the Parade of Athletes. Win more gold and silver and cheer on each other’s team players on in the Soccer Olympics.
But, for sure, book your guest room reservations at Lodge on the Desert. Because whether you’re competing or spectating, it’s close. It’s convenient…less than 5 miles and 10 minutes from Fort Lowell Park. And it’s comfortable. You’ll see.
