Lodge on the Desert - Lodge Art

Tucson Boutique Hotels

Striking and boldly artistic elements pervade Lodge on the Desert both inside and out. As do unique and occasionally one-of-a-kind artworks by Arizona-born, nationally-renowned artist and sculptor, Ed Mell and Guatemalan-born, Carlos Merida. In the Hacienda. In the brand new deluxe guest rooms. On the front driveway. In the diverse colors, design and imagery of the inlaid sporadic tile work on the exteriors of each village-like guest room building. Even in the design of the ceramic bath tiles of deluxe spa king accommodations.

Art, it seems, is everywhere at Lodge on the Desert. Strolling the grounds of public and private spaces is an ideal opportunity for a self-conducted mini-art tour . . . Southwest contemporary style.

Jacknife, Ed Mell's hand-signed bronze sculpture (bucking horse and cowboy rider) greets guests on the Lodge's circular front drive. And Mell's distinctive Southwestern prints in the Hacienda's lobby, library and deluxe guest rooms reflect his Arizona roots and offer points of interest and warmth seemingly everywhere. A nine-print specially numbered series by Carlos Merida graces the Hacienda entry. Together, these prints tell a story. Or guests may conjure up their own.

After you check in to Lodge on the Desert, check out its interesting art.
