*The Loft Cinema is a nonprofit, community-supported cinema that is Tucson’s premiere venue for art films – independent, foreign, alternative and classic narrative films and documentaries. The Loft was purchased in 2002 and was transitioned into a nonprofit arts organization. Since that time, the cinema has hosted more than 400 filmmakers and scholars and screened films from more than 56 countries. In 2008, The Loft was one of 17 mission-driven, community-based cinemas in the US invited by the Sundance Institute to join its Art House Project. The selection was based on excellence in programming and community involvement.

**The Loft Cinema was acknowledged Best Movie Theater in Tucson by the readers of Tucson Weekly in its Annual “Best of” competition!
