Tucson soccer fans may not have a MLS franchise to call their own, but for the first two months of 2013, Tucson fans will have several teams for whom to cheer.
In addition to the four MLS teams participating in the 2013 Desert Diamond Cup, FC Tucson invited five additional MLS clubs to train and play pre-season friendlies in the Old Pueblo in January. Those five teams are: Houston Dynamo, Portland Timbers, San Jose Earthquakes, Sporting Kansas City and Colorado Rapids.
FC Tucson, established in 2010, is committed to bringing the highest caliber of competitive soccer to Tucson. FC Tucson owns FC Tucson Soccer, Tucson’s top-level soccer team and the FC Tucson Desert Diamond Cup, a Major League Soccer pre-season tournament.
